Mahayana and the Bodhisattva Path
with Acharya Allyn Lyon Fri November 9th: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PMSat November 10th: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PMSun November 11th: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Price: $125 General $106 Member $50% RepeatIn Room(s): Main Shrine Room All people are endowed with wisdom and compassion, yet we suffer through confusion about what our true nature is. In the early stages of the path, we work to free ourselves from our confusion and suffering. When we attain some confidence in our practice and realize that all beings are caught in the cycle of suffering, we become inspired to dedicate ourselves to helping them. It is at this point that we take the bodhisattva vow and formally undertake the disciplines of a warrior bodhisattva.
Open to Everyone! The weekend will focus on the Bodhichitta practices for waking up our hearts - the core disciplines of the Mahayana journey and our training as bodhisattva warriors. It is an excellent program for deepening one’s understanding of the Mahayana journey and the meaning of making the formal commitment of the Bodhisattva Vow. As such, it acts as the preparation course for those taking the Bodhisattva Vow on November 11. However, this special opportunity to study the Mahayana teachings with Acharya Warwick is not just for people taking the Bodhistava Vow. Everyone is invited to attend this community practice weekend - whether as an introduction or to deepen one's Mahayana path.
Note: If you plan to take the Bodhisattva Vow, please register for the Vow Ceremony by following this LINK.
